SHINE FESTIVAL

INFLATABLE INSTALLATION

a project in collaboration with Pastique-Fantastique
PRINCIPAL: WAVE OF TOMORROW, MAY 2015

SHINE tower
Cultural organisation Wave of Tomorrow organised and hosted a ten day multidisciplinary art festival in the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.

For this festival, named Shine, Wave of Tomorrow asked Hilberink Bosch architects to design an exciting temporal structure that functions as a central point for the terrain and can house different media an art installations. Twenty standard 20 ft containers rise up from the heart of the festival ground, they are creatively piled up in four slabs which guarantees for an interesting inside and outside structure. Sixteen white containers of the Twilight Tower, as it is called by the organisation, will serve as screen for an architectural videomapping by 1024 Architecture. The tower is also the home for the inflatable sculptures by Plastique Fantastique, the Visionair installation by Eliane Esther Bots and some video- and gaming spaces. The tower functioned as landmark, interactive silhouette and as an extraordinary space during the Shine festival.
