Media Scenography project commissioned by Artist Anne Duk Hee Jordan for her exhibition at ZKM Karlsruhe, ‘Electrify Me, Baby’ (2024).
Electrify Me, Baby is an immersive installation that explores the simulation of artificial life within a museum environment. Conceived as a synthetic ecosystem, the work combines moving images, generative animations, light pulses, sound and an interactive floor system to create a continuously evolving spatial experience.
The installation is structured as a unified environment rather than a sequence of screens. Projections, data-driven visual forms and ambient sound are spatially integrated, surrounding the visitor and transforming the exhibition space into a responsive organism. The interactive floor acts as a central interface, translating bodily presence and movement into real-time visual and spatial changes.
Media scenography is developed here as a spatial system in which digital images, light and sound are directly linked to architecture and visitor interaction. Rather than illustrating content, the media elements define atmosphere, rhythm and perception, allowing the audience to physically enter and influence a simulated artificial life cycle.
The interactive floor translates visitor movement into real-time spatial transformations. As visitors walk through the space, clusters of three-dimensional digital forms are displaced, attracted and reorganized in response to human presence, continuously reshaping the environment.
